Parallel Crossings continues the themes explored in In Transit while testing a more conventional scale in the work, with a ’split screen’ of parallel images. This work was exhibited in various Australian and New Zealand galleries in 1995-1996.

Detail images show the effect of using a double-weave pick-up technique, in which threads from the back are selectively woven on the front surface and visa-verso.  The black and white ’scale’ markers are loom-controlled double weave blocks.  A drawing from the ‘mapping’ required for the thread dyeing process and the backs of works two works are shown here to give some insight into process.
